What I do

Hi everyone, thanks for visiting my corner of the internet. I’m Jonathan and my purpose is to empower people to heal their traumas and create the meaningful life the’ve always dreamed of.  Using a combination of coaching, TRE bodywork (trauma releasing exercises) and Men’s Circles my goal is provide people with tools to create their own agency in their quest for freedom, joy, purpose and fulfilment.

Why I do this

In 2018 I attended a workshop that changed my life. I’d been feeling overwhelmed, stressed, unfulfilled and following a life path that was unaligned with my authentic self. The workshop was an introduction to TRE (trauma/tension release exercises) and it cracked me open like a nut! All the tension, pain and suffering that I had ignored for years came flowing out of me in that magical two hour session. After leaving the workshop I knew I had changed and I knew I had to find out more about this magical healing technique.

This was the beginning of a healing journey that had been going on in the background for more than 20 years. Growing up and watching films like The Matrix and The Truman Show I felt there was a much deeper pattern to life but not knowing what it was or how to access it. Having passed through many healing modalities in the last 20 years including Yoga, meditation and Qigong, I still hadn’t found that elusive peace, happiness and awareness I was looking for. Coming out of that TRE workshop I felt the doors had been opened and that my true journey was to to go into all the pain I’d ever avoided, all the shame and fear I’d neglected to address and to stop hiding from the darker sides of myself.

Having spent many years with a lack of direction, not following my heart and avoiding my pain and traumas I wanted to bring my learnings and healing techniques to others who are seeking a way out of the rat race and their traumas but don’t know where to start the process. I believe that you are truly worth it and your dream and vision for your dream life is the ultimate path to joy and fulfilment.

TRE (Trauma/Tension Release Exercises)

TRE®Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises, are a simple set of exercises that trigger a natural tremor reflex in the body.

Shaking can release long-held tension patterns and promote new feelings of connection and ease.

Shaking is a novel stimulus to the central nervous system. New stimuli, approached with safety and curiosity, can support learning and growth.

The psychology of trauma is complex, the physiology is relatively simple. In trauma old parts of the brain are fixed in defence cascades of ‘fight-or-flight’ or ‘freeze’.

TRE® is a safe, natural process to re-boot overprotective reflexes.

Men's Groups - Taking off the Armour

For 1000s of years men have sat in circles around fires and discussed what it means to be a man and how to best face the challenges of the world around them. To be in a supportive group of brothers where you can bring all of yourself to the circle - not just the edited showreel of your personality- is a highly transformative experience for any man willing to drop their mask.

These groups are an antidote to to the current masculine mainstream norms where a lack of vulnerability, unexpressed emotions, secret addictions, unspoken anxieties and depressions are given free rein and true, honest and authentic connection is lost, unknown about or even scorned at.

I created Taking off the Armour to foster healthy masculine communities, where men of all ages and demographics can come together as equals to offer support, friendship and solidarity as we meet the different challenges that 21st century living throws at us.

Emotional well-being reboot programme

In this eight week programme I provide the framework to get you back on your feet and thriving after what has been a difficult period for many people following Covid-19.

Using both TRE and coaching, the programme offers the chance to delve deeper into your inner world and focus on what’s been happening to you, how you can address your issues and how you can move your life in the direction you really want to take. Although true transformation takes time, having a healthy mindset and positive habits will create the basis for turning your dreams into reality and live the life you truly want and deserve.
